Brinks Home Security
Brinks Home Security was a subsidiary of The Brinks Company which started in 1859 and is widely known for its armored trucks. In 2008, the spin-off of Brinks Home Security Holdings, Inc. as a stand-alone publicly-traded company was official. As a condition of the spin-off, the company was required to change its brand, and in 2009, launched the new brand, Broadview Security.[3]
On May 12, 2010, Tyco International acquired Broadview Security, formerly Brinks Home Security, in a transaction valued at $2.0 billion. As part of the merger, Broadview's Security services were transitioned to the company's ADT Security brand. Now all of Brinks Home Security customers are monitored by ADT. ADT also services the monitored Brinks Home Security Systems throughout the United States.
Brinks Home Security Systems
Security Systems with the Brinks Home Security brand are systems that were previous monitored by Brinks Home Security. Brinks has never manufactured security systems but the company did monitor over 1 million security systems at one point.
Most of the Brinks Home Security System installations were hard wired panels manufactured by Honeywell/Ademco. If you have a security system that has been branded with Brinks Home Security or Broadview Security you can get your system turned on by activating it with ADT. ADT will upgrade the security panel for free for new customers with up to $850 of security equipment. Check out the new and exciting ADT Pulse system to the right.
