Whether you are enjoying the weather (or trying to escape it) , there is no doubt that another sizzling summer has arrived in the "Southern Gateway"  to the Central Valley, more formally know as the City of Bakersfield, California. While August is upon us, we still have several annual summer events to look forward to, from the Tehachapi Mountain Festival to the B-Town Blues Festival and the Kern County Fair.

What is not debatable is that school brings a switch in our routines. On warm days you can go down to the Sacramento River that is well worth a visit and appropriate for the whole family in addition to many great shopping centers and malls that will satisfy any shopaholic! Especially during this time of year when the weather is warm, Sacramento residents definitely enjoy the outdoors.
